Soul Tape One is a collection of tracks by Azul Loose Ties. Starting off with two house tracks in an unusually slow tempo, the tape evolves into more spherical territories before returning with a classic house groove. The central theme is the already familiar signature sound heard in previous Underground Soul releases: Repetitive off-kilter drum programming arranged with warm open pads, playful synth sounds and spoken word passages.
Azul is the individual, Loose Ties the family. The interest in rhythm and simplicity, programming organic structures with soulless machines reflects his main concern. Music is intrinsically linked to life. In his case that means, working in architecture on one hand, where accuracy and structure are fundamental and being a dancer on the other hand, where emotions get physical and the body becomes the leader. This mind and body confrontation / connection is mirrored in Azul's music, where structure and the desire to let loose are in continuous dialogue.
Underground Soul is a record label founded in 2016 by 'hommes du monde' and Azul Loose Ties. The focus of the label is to release hardware house music with a personal signature, an insight into the artist's soul.
